Whisperings

Random thoughts, random memories, suddenly emerge from my past to tickle my mind and inspire me to create this poem.

Whisperings  -  30 Sep 13

An old memory
Called forth by
Chance sightings
Of an image

A name

A whispering
In the wind
Of words carried
Over the years

A place

Only remembered
In a chance thought
May not even be real
Any longer

The people and places alluded to in this poem, were essentially forgotten things from when I was about 17 years old and, as I said, may not even exist now.

Shining Key

This poem came to me a couple of lines at a time till it was fully formed.

Shining Key  -  29 Sep 13

The key I gave you
To hold safe
Still shines
My Heart still craves
Your touch
Your lips
Have shaped me
Made me sing

Now the key is yours
Use it  to open me
Take me to you

A Love poem with a little extra.

Words Of A Song

The first stanza shouted at me to get it down before it was forgotten, the remaining two waited for about an hour before emerging.

Words Of A Song  -  28 Sep 13

Melodies of an unwritten song
Play in my mind
Calling images to surface
Dance in time to the tune
Calling to be written

Words chase around
Touch my brain
Repeat themselves
In choral movements
Exquisite chants

Now we write
Muse guides my hands
Words once unwritten
Write themselves
Formed in beauty

An extra special thank you to Muse who seemed to have a really strong hand in the writing of this poem.

An Offer

Another poem which formed when I was on the verge of giving up, suddenly I found random words were calling to me.
Not exactly a Love song but something involving an intoxication from a mysterious Lady.

An Offer  -  27 Sep 13

She looked at me
Smiled a gentle smile
Invited me
To enter her garden

Flowers bowed a greeting
As I entered
Shadowed by the Lady

Nectar in her voice
Pulled me further

Claimed me with her offer

Lost in her I think.

Love Spark [Senryū]

Just a short poem today in the form of a Senryū, rather than an Haikū, containing some special thoughts.

Love Spark [Senryū]  -  25 Sep 13

In the grey of day
The spark of you shines brightly
Tells me of your Love

I do Love the three line, seventeen syllable restriction that it imposed in the form,

Reflecting Us

Reflecting seems to be something of a recurring theme for me, sometimes I see mirrors in my thoughts as well and they often inspire me to explore more deeply.

Reflecting Us  -  25 Sep 13

Touching you
Touching me
We
Reflect our thoughts
Between our Souls
Between ourselves
Play the music
Of the dance
As we touch
We

The structure of this poem feels a little odd but sometimes that is the way reflections work.

Race The Sun

This afternoon, looking from my window, I was fascinated by the way the sunlight flickered as the cloud hurried past.  It triggered the thought of a poem which finally emerged just a little after midnight.

Race The Sun  -  24 Sep 13

Watching the clouds
Race the sun
Rushing into the west
Shadows dance
Across the ground
Trying to avoid
The places where
Shadows already sit
Race the sun
Into the night

Being aware of events ~ always worth the effort.

Traces Of You

This little poem took shape fairly early but it did not seem to want to finish, looking back on it perhaps it is complete.

Traces Of You  -  22 Sep 13

Fingerprints on my Heart
Kisses on my Soul
Left by you
In moments of our Passion
These traces always remain

Another little Love song, taken perhaps, to a higher level.

Now And Future

After writing the body of the poem I tried to find a title, the only thing which came to mind was the title of the classic work "The Once And Future King".  Obviously I could not use that so, with a minor change it all came together.

Now And Future  -  22 Sep 13

Memories of a day
A time ~ a place
When the echo
Of something
That has not yet
Happened
Is clear
In my eyes ~ in my mind
Touching is now

This is yet another Love song.

Starsong

Partly inspired by the fact that my broadband was misbehaving and I was being told that I needed a musical theme today this poem was birthed.

Starsong  -  21 Sep 13

Sitting in silence
Starsong muted
Anticipation
Sunset curtains open
Upon the night
Overture begins

Sometimes silence is a great aid to creativity.  Other times it can be a drawback.

Harvest Moon

At first I had no ideas but then the Full Moon drew me in.

Harvest Moon  -  20 Sep 13

Harvest Moon watches

Cool breeze
Carries a subtle hint
Smoke in the night

Inviting light
In the window

Calling us home

I just Love the way an accidental sighting or hearing can trigger a poem.

Watching Time

This is another of the poems which grew from the title liine.

Watching Time  -  19 Sep 13

Brief moments cascade past
Scatter ~ feathers on the wind
Warm snowflakes
Caress my face as they fall
I watch them
Slow sand in an hourglass

I really like the way these flows happen.

Meaning

Another Love song ~ simple and beautifully basic.

Meaning  -  18 Sep 13

Whispered into the night air
Three short words
Deeply felt
Always true ~

I Love You

Need I say more?

Rose Petal

Just a little Love song.

Rose Petal  -  17 Sep 13

Rose petal
On my pillow
Left by her
Token of Love
Unending
Dewdrop glistens
Tear on the petal
Love spoken
In another language

Sometimes these arrive somewhat unannounced.

Summer Haikū

Another little attempt at a bilingual Haikū.

Summer Haikū  -  15 Sep 13

Komorebi ~ breeze
Ripples dance ~ puddles of light
Waiting for autumn

Komorebi ~ The sunlight that filters through the leaves of trees.
Waiting for autumn ~ Aki tikashi [in Japanese] also fulfils the syllabic requirement for the line structure.

I am pleased.

Beauty

This is just a statement of fact.

Beauty  -  15 Sep 13

In a moment of thought
An understanding of beauty
Instantly bathed and floated
In the wonder
That beauty
IS

Beauty IS everywhere and all around us and within us all.

Wrapt In Paradox

Need I say that this is another of the "limite surréaliste" poems?
I was wondering whether if the "W" in the title was necessary but then I felt that the strange ambiguity did rather help.

Wrapt In Paradox  -  13 & 14 Sep 13

In porcelain enfolded
Silken scarves shroud
The day holds darkness
To kiss with the light
Words sing in places
We cannot touch
Except by tasting
The silence
In a moonlit rose

The spellchecker here in Blogger really doesn't like it ~ neither does it like spellchecker and Blogger ~ which is really strange.

Memory Of Dry

Another of those days ~ it asked to be written about so I complied.

Memory Of Dry  -  12 Sep 13

Cold grey
Washed with rain
Wrapped in cloud
Forgotten by the sun
Hiding under trees
Holding memories
Dry
In a pocket

Another poem referring to keeping things in pockets ~ no real understanding of the reasons.

Memories To Come

Words were randomly tumbling through my mind ~ I tried to capture a few rather unsuccessfully then, seemingly by chance, a few came together and this poem was birthed.

Memories To Come  -  12 Sep 13

In a secret place
Within my Heart
I have carried you
Through all the Eternities
We know

Before we met
The pre-echo of you
Watched me
Smiled and gently
Touched

A gentle touch
Awoke a slumbering dream
Showed us the new We
Hand in hand
Heart in Heart

And so, another Love song arrives.

Key

In a moment of quiet, while workmen outside took a break, I saw a photograph of a key and this poem grew quite quickly.  It has an element of limite surréaliste about it.

Key   -  10 Sep 13

In the reflection of
The mind’s eye
A key
Seeing what it opens
Requesting permission
To enter

The doorway to your Heart
In the sea
Within you
Waves draw me on
To you
You draw me in to you

Also a small amount of inappropriate thoughts as well.

Gateway

Another short poem which grew from the opening line into what you see here.

Gateway  -  10 Sep 13

Gates of Paradise
Held open by a friendly hand
Inviting ~ showing the way
Temple bells softly chime
Concord of bliss
Sweet sounds resound
Inspire the dance

I find it quite interesting that a line can trigger an entire poem ~ especially when I have no idea where it is coming from or where it is going.

Afternoon Love

This is shorter than I had expected but I feel that it works quite well.

Afternoon Love  -  09 Sep 13

Sweet meadows shall be our bed
In the everlasting afternoon
Love transforms mundane
Into wonderful
Ordinary into
Magical

Wondering if it is possible to create a poem in one word ~ no, I am not setting myself a challenge here.

Celebrating

This poem arrived suddenly ~ I was hoping for something but was surprised at the content.

Celebrating  -  08 Sep 13

A conjoined memory
Called forward
Showing the experiences
Of a Love
We share

Celebrating together
In our perfect time
Our Eternal space
We hold
For each other

I really like it and say to Muse ~ "Thank you".

Another View, Another Place

Strictly this is not really connected to the previous "View" poem but the title drew me in and I had to run with it.

Another View, Another Place  -  07 Sep 13

She watched me
As I thought
Contemplated
How she played me
How she played with me
We enjoyed the game

She watched me
Smiled gently, sweetly
Caressed me
With her eyes
Invited me to start
Another game

Wondering whether there will be more "View"s to come.

View From Another Place

This poem grew from a chance sighting of someone's blog post and I was taken by a line similar to the title I have used here.

View From Another Place  -  05 Sep 13

The winds of change
Blown strong over our borders
Reshaped our thoughts
To what they are now
And show us
What was
What is
What can be
Just look
The view is always changing
Always new

I Love these surprise prompts from Muse.

Watching Through Fingers

Another of the "limite surréaliste" series.  Birthed in the early hours of the day when I was actually looking for something else to write.

Watching Through Fingers  -  05 Sep 13

Open moments
Allowing me to peep in
And see you looking
Out at me
Through my fingers
Sifting the images
In my mind
Shaping them
A flower to give you

Another and probably more to follow.

Misplaced Memories

This poem was inspired by memories of events which now feel that they belong to another lifetime.   I do not feel that they are a part of me but they are still my memories and I think they belong in my pocket.

Misplaced Memories  -  04 Sep 13

We travelled together
Along forgotten paths
Scattering memories
To the winds

I remember when we
Kissed
At the Ocean’s edge
… I think

We walked on meadows
In the moonlight
In our dream
Surrounded

Memories come back
From hidden corners
Where I had forgotten
To collect them again

Trying to recall
Where I left them
So I can put them back
In my pocket

So many memories and most of them now irrelevant to me.  I have a new life and am creating new memories daily.

Labyrinth [Acrostic]

The inspiration for this acrostic poem arrived in the very early hours of 02 Sep but it didn't seem to want to be written.  Then suddenly, about twenty hours later, the words flowed.

Labyrinth [Acrostic]  -  02 Sep 13

Love persisting permits
Absolute connections
Between Souls
Yours and mine
Round the labyrinth
Infinite journeys together
Never apart
Through all our Eternities
Hearts kissing

For those readers who are not certain ~ a labyrinth and a maze are NOT the same thing.  A labyrinth is a meditative tool with a single path from entrance to centre and a maze is designed to get a player lost with many dead-ends.

Messages

Another of the poems which grow in the very early hours ~ the day was only a couple of hours old.

Messages  -  02 Sep 13

Within my Heart
Messages held
From you
In moments of Passion

Your words
Will ever remind me
Of what we have
And share

Our words tied
In a Lovers knot
Bound together
With Joy

Time is of no consequence to Muse ~ when she asks me to write ...

Ashes Of Day

This poem grew suddenly and unexpectedly just after midnight.

Ashes Of Day  -  01 Sep 13

Broken offerings
The promises of day
Unfulfilled
Now night arrives
Offers new promises
In the dream
Born of ash

Night lights glow
Freshly kindled
Open flames
New promises offered
Await
New dawn
Shine them out

It seems to refer to the way each new day brings new promise.
