Night Dazed
Having been on stage [a long time ago] on a short run of six performances, I found this concept wandering around in my mind.
Night Dazed - 11 May 15
On the dark night stage
We play our parts
Say our lines
Then withdraw
Into the daylight
Dazzled by the light
Forgetting the words
Playing the play
Pretending we know
What comes next
In the wings
Sheltered from extremes
But the play goes on
And we await the whispered
Cue
I do not recall that anyone actually said "cue" though ~ just left it up to the memory of the actors and actresses.
WHAT PLAY WERE YOU IN? WHAT PART DID YOU PLAY? IN LONDON?
ReplyDeleteI took part in a pantomime [usually shortened to "pamto"] generally performed just before Christmas or sometime in the early New Year.
DeleteI had two roles, a counsellor and a villager in Hamelin ~ as in "The Pied Piper of Hamelin".
The hall which was used as the theatre was about half a mile from my house in Charlton, London, UK.
