This poem grew just moments before bedtime last "night". I was surprised at how well it worked.
Woven Dreams - 31 Oct 13
Unexpected words
Touch we
Warm caress
Kisses woven
Warming flow
Love’s web
Breath invites
Sweet sigh
Interlaced dreams
I am constantly pleased at how Muse offers me little suggestions.
Listening to a random selection of music tracks from various groups and this poem started drifting through my mind.
Then And Now - 29 Oct 13
Sweet child of time
Watching me
From the space
Between moments
The intersection
Of the planes
Of the then
And the now
She smiles and
Sings me a Love song
Sweet Lady sings a sweet Love song.
A Love song, written in a folk ballad style, with a touch of melancholy.
I Wonder - 28 Oct 13
A tall ship stands
In the western harbour
And I wonder
Who she is waiting for
A soft wind
Gathers the scent of spice
From the sea
To carry it across the land
I remember those mellow days
Filled with warm sunshine
And I wonder
Who is waiting there now
A sweet voice
Gathers my memories
From wherever they lie
To carry them back to me
A gentle touch of a soft hand
Wakes the Love within me
And I wonder
Shall I see her again?
This was born just after the one posted yesterday, it came as something of a surprise to me when it emerged.
With quite a large measure of "limite surréaliste" I present this poem, birthed amid the sound of winds and rain.
Wilderness - 28 Oct 13
No path to follow
Feeling a hand
Taking mine
Leading me
Urging me on
Wanting to show
A secret
Help me to see
She waits
Patiently
Till the secret
Unfolds
It would be interesting to see where this trackless way through the wilderness leads.
Another Love poem, this grew seemingly out of nothing. I find it fascinating when Muse offers little suggestions.
She Knows Me - 27 Oct 13
Gentle smile
Warmth in her eyes
Looking at me
Caring
Soft touch
Opens my Heart
To her ~ alone
Requesting
Quiet whisper
Words of Love
Hold my Soul
Forever
Sweet kisses
Secret words
Hold us together
Eternally
I really Love the offerings that Muse gives me.
This poem grew quite suddenly out of a tiny hint held in the opening line.
Time Tied - 25 Oct 13
In all the days
Before
All the days
From now on
We have been
Will be
One
Time has tied us
Together
In the tide
Of Love
I seem to be caught in a cycle of Love songs ~ Excellent *rubs hands together*
A subtle Love song ~ nothing more to say.
Love Flower - 25 Oct 13
Petals of a Love
Once bloomed
In a secret place
Perfume lingers
Love flower
Always blooms
Often unexpected
Always welcomed
There will be more somewhen soon.
This poem was birthed when I saw the words that form the title line and then it grew quite quickly.
Cold Nights - 24 Oct 13
Shiver
I call you to me
No matter how far apart
We are
Our thoughts are together
We warm each other
With just a spirit touch
Keeping warm
In the night
A good way to keep warm.
Another Haikū formed from the memory of travelling to school on Autumn mornings and combined with the actual time of year now.
Autumn Morning [Haikū] - 22 Oct 13
Aki no asa
Red sun hangs ~ empty branches
Watching mist dancing
Aki no asa ~ Japanese for “Autumn Morning”
I don't think I need to say more ...
Conflict Of Interests - 22 Oct 13
Bed calls me back
Insisting
Sleep is good
Muse argues
So many things to write
Offers images
Mind says
Let me …
Just …
... really I don't.
zzzzzzzzzz
This was an accidental Senryū ~ I had written three lines and, only later, discovered that I was just a few syllables short of the seventeen needed to create a Senryū.
Afternoon Haze [Senryū] - 21 Oct 13
Afternoons go on
Forever ~ hazy hours
Drifting in our thoughts
I Love it when things just fall into place.
Another "limite surréaliste" poem. This one grew without any expectation or, seemingly, without any inspiration point, even the title was the last to appear.
Secret Mysteries - 20 Oct 13
Secret touch of perfume
Intimate whispers
She leads me on
With promises
Of her mysteries
Offered to unfold
Around me
Stories captivate
Paint the depths
With words
Her petals open
On re-reading the poem I realise that the subject could be a woman or a flower, possibly both at the same time.
Written to honour the lunar eclipse, even though I did not actually get to see it.
This poem is also a Love song and should be read as such in that light too.
Eclipse Visitation - 19 Oct 13
In the wilderness
Beneath the Moon’s gaze
I wait
Blood shadow
Drifts across her face
Eclipse
In the darkness
My Lady comes to me
Takes me in her arms
Lays soft kisses on me
Whispers
~ Our Love is Eternal ~
Moonlight returns
I still hear My Lady’s voice
Whispers echo loud
Across the wilderness
~ We will always be together
Remember ~
These events are really powerful, as are the consequences.
Back to the subtle Love songs again.
She Watched Me - 18 Oct 13
Through many lives
Through many eyes
She watched me
Her hands held me
Offered me Love
Shared her worlds
With me
I Love them whether subtle or clear.
Another poem with more than just a hint of "limite surréaliste" to it.
Midnight Moons - 17 Oct 13
Starsong
Echoes of an ancient tongue
Still whispered
In the halls of time
Across the plains of midnight
Under the phantom moons
I wait
Listening to the song
On the shore
The silent sun turns to the sea
Calls her back to stand
Beside us once again
The journey is complete
Whispers stilled
Now we just listen to the
Starsong
I Love the way these poems are developing.
Listening to the rain outside my window, not really relevant but I wanted to set the scene, this poem suddenly grew in a matter of moments.
Word To Be Said - 16 Oct 13
Tiny pieces of paper
Each with a word
On them
Scrambled sentences
Gathered in a heap
Shouting at me
To answer them
One word shouts loudest
Knowing it will be heard
I whisper it to you
Love
That one word, usually spoken in a whisper is often the loudest of all.
Just a tiny Love song ...
Your Promise - 15 Oct 13
You promised me
The Universe
But
I got something better
You
Sometimes short can be really sweet.
A return to the Ocean theme that was part of my writing for a while.
Ocean Dream - 14 Oct 13
Footprints in wet sand
Ocean claims them back
As they fade
Dreams
In sunlight
Warm Ocean waves
Wrap
Caress
Words written in the sand
Whisper now
Dreams in far-off lands
Where the footprints
Come to rest
With the Ocean
Cradling
Good to have her back again.
A slightly different edge to this poem.
New Dreams Tomorrow - 13 Oct 13
Together
In the darkness
Of tomorrow
We hold the dreams
Gather the pieces
Reshape them
Into something new
Claim the darkness
For ourselves
Recolour it
Together
This was not entirely what I was expecting but still, it works.
Another poem that has elements of "limite surréaliste" in the construction.
We Are - 12 Oct 13
I am you
Strange words pass
Through my mind
Strange worlds shone
In my eyes
You are me
Confluence of thought
Wrapped in water
Flow through me
Touching everywhere
We are we
Echoes of the Love
We are reverberate
Through all of time
Reflecting
We
Obviously it is the way my mind is constructed too.
The first stanza took me and refused to let go, I followed the path offered and the rest of the poem grew quite rapidly.
Glimpsing Her Star - 11 Oct 13
Over the edge
Of the horizon
She waits
Chasing her
Through my dreams
Unformed memories
I can see her
In glimpses
Through the curtains
A star only seen
When not looked at
Directly
Her Love shines
Brighter than the sun
Her dawn
Her dawn ~ a Lovely time.
This poem was birthed at about 03:30 and is most certainly a "limite surréaliste". The words just tumbled into my head and I wrote them out.
Contradictions - 10 Oct 13
In the minutia of thought
A fragment of forgotten ideas
In which forbidden dreams
Gather and gain a foothold
A sky full of holes shines
Fills the light with darkness
A sunbow drinks
From the well of sighs
Orchids satisfy the hunger
Of the Soul ~ stills the stalking tongue
Ice ~ slip
On the bridge of midnight
The tyrant mind
Scatters petals from a random thought
Across the sheets of silk
Restless night
Not totally certain what it all means but it has an interesting feel to it, I think.
This poem grew "just because" it felt right and, reading it again, it still feels right.
Kiss In Waiting - 09 Oct 13
Waiting
A promised kiss
Upon meeting
Longing for that moment
Longing
In secret and
In all the moments
Around
The promised kiss
Already enflames my lips
Kissing is fun.
Another new Love song.
Flowers - 08 Oct 13
Flowers
In an open book
Perfume pressed
In the pages
Petals remember
Our time together
Called back into memory
Kisses pressed
From our lips
Into the pages
Rainbow petals
Rainbow kisses
We turn the pages
Of our book
To the unwritten future
I'm happy with another Love song ~ long may they continue.
Really not certain what this poem is, it has elements of "limite surréaliste" and something else, though I know not what.
Silent Days - 07 Oct 13
Silent days
Follow silent nights
Ghosts of winter
Wait
Secret places call
Beckon with invisible hands
Inviting
Winter is coming soon
Silent songs
Play only in the mind
Can be heard
In the phantom breeze
That ripples the curtains
Of the mind
Muse works in mysterious ways.
A chance sighting of the first line triggered the rest of the poem to form.
Untouched - 06 Oct 13
An untouched world
Small whispers
Resound through me
Gentle kisses
Brush my mind
Wake me
Soft touches
From a world
Never touched
But one who knows
Me
And all I am
In a way this is a continuation of the Love poem series, once again with a different feel.
Another little Love song, I was expecting it to be a bit longer but discovered that it was complete at this length.
Angels - 04 Oct 13
Angels leave footprints
On the beach of my Soul
Gentle traces spell your name
At the waters edge
I have been to that waters edge ...
A little Love song from a slightly different angle.
She Held - 04 Oct 13
One smile
She opened my Heart
To her
Held me
In a fold of Love
She wrapped
One kiss
She held me gently
In Love
I rather like the way that these Love songs are developing.
Another Love song but this time with a slightly different feel. Once again this poem formed from just the title line.
Landfall - 03 Oct 13
Here
Walking up the beach
Wet sand
Looking to meet you again
After too long
I heard you calling
Though I could not answer
I thought of you
Now
Landfall in a place
I have known
Know now
Will know again
Where you have always been
You are waiting
Waiting for me
This poem fits my mood and feelings rather well.
Another of the poems born out of a single word, the title came to me long before the rest of the poem formed.
Legacy - 02 Oct 13
Granted to me
Given
An æon ago
When the gods danced
For me
A song
More beautiful
Composed by Love
Sung by the gods
For her
We shared
The legacy
Within us
We hold
The gods
I find these birthings quite strange.
A curious little piece, not at all what I was expecting.
Darkness Before Dawn - 01 Oct 13
Never completely dark
Soft red glow
Everywhere
Not yet light
Becoming brighter
Dawn coming soon
An impression of the moments before birth, I do not know how accurate this is because I cannot actually remember this point.
Or, is this a memory?
