Moon In Eclipse
Today the post is again slightly out of creation sequence so that it will be relevant to the Lunar Eclipse on 03 Apr 15.
Moon In Eclipse - 03 Apr 15
Behold the speckled Moon
Bleeding softly in the night
Menstrual Moon
When time is right
Earth hides her
From the Sun
Allows her time
For her time
Earth curtain
Drawn aside
Moon smiles sweetly
Again
This was a "Blood Moon" which is caused when sunlight is refracted by Earth's atmosphere to shine on the Moon. Only the red end of the spectrum actually gets to the Moon thus making her seem to be red.
IS THIS BASED ON SOME FOLKLORE OR ENTIRELY YOUR INTERPRETATION? IT REMINDS ME OF WHEN WOMEN WERE ACTUALLY EXPECTED TO "HIDE" THEMSELVES AT "THAT" TIME OF MONTH.
ReplyDeleteThere is a faint echo of the "old times" here but my main starting point comes from the fact that total Lunar eclipses are often referred to by the name of "Blood Moon".
DeleteMy interpretation is that the Earth is offering a little privacy to the Moon during her "time", thus sharing the protective element that Earth and the Moon offer us. She can then return in all her glory to watch over the Earth and all of us.
