Dreams Within Dreams

I have this type of dream fairly often.

I woke into a dream

Sleeping deeply

Then I woke

And got out of bed

Into a dream

You were there

Then I woke

And …

Awake

Or asleep

How can I tell

If I am asleep

Or awake

Or ...

Confusing and sometimes quite exhausting.
