Cascade [Acrostic]

.
I can hear it and see it too.

Cascade [Acrostic]        -        13 Jul 22

Cherished falls
Above the lake
Scintillating ripples
Causing rainbows
Across watching eyes
Dreaming in the
Endless cascade

Quite an enchanting sight.

Essence

.
Essence is everything.

Essence       -       13 Mar 22

Holding the essence of night
To balance the light of day
In the point of dream
Makes possible the form
We see every day
In the shade of morning
And the shimmering mists
That lie across the lake
Come sip the essence
To see with clarity

Mists allow clarity by obscuring the unnecessary.

Sun And Moon

.
A dream reminder.

Sun And Moon       -       01 Mar 22

Between Sun and Moon
I stand
Watching the shadows
Crawl
Across the stars
Reflected by
The waters in the lake
And echoed
By the clouds

The Sun and Moon
Talk to me
Whisper the shadows
Back to
The darkness they
Were born

Watch them move.

Dawn Light

.
A mix of light and mist.

.
Dawn Light      -      14 Mar 21

Darkness slides under trees
Hiding from the coming day
The first feint trails
Begin to tint the sky
From the East
As dawn light
Shimmers
Across the lake
Driving the mist before it

.
A touch of magic as the day begins.

Summer Rose

.
Shifting into Autumn.

.
Summer Rose   -   23 Sep 19

The last petals of the
Summer rose
Drift across the lawn
Blown by the wind
Into the lake of Autumn
A gentle rain
Washes the petals
Leaving phantom hues
Across the lake
Last memory of Summer

.
It is the rose which acts as the waymarker.

I Can See Me

Not sure what genre this poem fits into, I suspect that it is a kind of revelation episode.

I Can See Me  -  06 Oct 14

In the lake
Moon
Your reflection
Face
Shining bright
Impression
Hiding in the stars
I
Wondering who you are
We
Stars holding us
Showing
What we are

I shall refrain from adding it to any genre.

Reflections

I was trying to get some ideas together for this offering when I saw a photograph on Twitter and immediately it all came together so today the poem is ...

Reflections  -  08 Dec 13

Autumn mists
Gentle wrap
Soft blanket
Lake still
No ripples
Mirror calm
Hold trees
Captive beauty
Beauty captivating

The photograph I saw can be viewed at:

It can also be viewed on my We♥It and my Pinterest pages under the heading, or tags, of "Places"

My apologies for the positioning of the link ~ Blogger would not allow me to reposition it.

Dark Map

After a comment on yesterday's post suggesting that there were more "Map" poems to come, Muse agreed and showed a few suggestions of her own ... here is the result.

Dark Map  - 19 Apr 13

Cartographers said
“Here be Dragons”
When facts ran out
And the space
Had to be filled

The Dragons watched
As we danced
Through shimmering halls
Across walls
Of starlight

Reflected in the mirror lake
The dark map
Shows the path …
We are invited
By Dragon wings

I feel that there is at least one more poem to come in this series.

Haikū 54

Another little collection from the hand-written Haikū archives.

Symphony  -  07 Jun 10

Symphony of Love
Stars, counterpointed by the
Moon ... in last night's dance

Mace  -  07 Jun 10

Edges of the lake
Reed-mace stands in the water
Naiad staff of rank

Dangle  -  08 Jun 10

Teasing me again
You dangle your promises
before me, like bait

Fix  -  08 Jun 19

Your Love ... no quick fix
permanent cure for heartache
Thank you my Lover

Body-parts  -  08 Jun 10

Look at my body~
parts of which ... craving your touch
... cannot help myself

More things soon...
