4 am

Preparing for bed, I caught sight of the Moon riding low in the North-western sky and Muse requested that I start to write.  So the first stanza was birthed, I was actually in bed and starting to drift off to sleep when Muse started to nag me about there being more...turn over - grab pen and pad...

4 am  -  03 Feb 12

I

Dawn so long away
But
In the western sky
A pregnant Moon
Counts the days
As she presides
Over a frost rimed land
Hand rests on her belly
“Soon little one…soon”

II

Frost maiden’s
Scattered crystals
Accentuate
The naked trees

I never feel that it is a good idea to argue with Muse

Time After Time

This is the third and final part of the Time sequence of poems, I feel that it has been brought to a satisfying conclusion ~ with some assistance from Muse.

Time After Time  -  15 Jan 12

We traced the time-lines
From each beginning
All beginnings
Through everywhen
Watched the games
We played – play out
Felt again the dance
Through the Universe

In this place
Time after time
We can rest
No more do we need
The dance or the games
But because we enjoy them
We shall
Play on

Home now
Wrapped in each other’s arms
We sit and watch
The stars

Where will the next saga take us?  Muse only leaves subtle hints but I am certain that, wherever we go, it will be fun.

Step By Step

This is the second of three poems in a Time sequence, the first one was "Time Before Time".  I was given the titles of this and the next poem just after I wrote the first one and have been waiting for something to grow around the title.  Muse prompted me in the early hours [again] and I now present it here.

Step By Step  -  12 Jan 12

In our thoughts and dreams
Through all our lives
Our paths meandered
Crossed and re-crossed
Only one thing we knew
Was certain through all of them
Our Love’s constancy

From our beginnings
We moved
Step by step
Through the starstream
Drank from the waters
Of Infinity
And kissed our Love

Still our dancing thoughts
Take us on
To worlds undreamed
Under skies of wonder

The third poem in the sequence should be arriving soon, with a few hints from Muse.

Time Before Time

Another poem to arrive during the night when everyone else is sleeping.  I had been watching a DVD when certain words and phrases started to sound in my thoughts - when I finished watching the words were still there so...

Time Before Time  -  08 Jan 12

In the time before time
You held the beauty
You were powerful
Your beauty held me
I was your willing captive
Now, here and now
You still hold me
Your touch still goes deep
Deep within me
I am still your willing captive
Your kisses bind me
Hold me
Keep me
Happily
Captive

I offer my kisses
To try to hold you
You say that there is no need
You say that you are mine
Have been, before time was time
Always have been
Always will be

I am really happy with the way that my Muse feeds things to play with in my mind.

Dancing

This poem crawled into my mind during the afternoon - normally they arrive during the night - I never argue though and am pleased to present it here.

Dancing  -  04 Jan 12

Dancing in the dark
To a soft song
Listening to the rain
Washing the window
Drops catch the lamplight
Dance down the pane

Pressed against each other
Enveloped by the music
Enveloped by our Love
Sharing sweet kisses
As we move
Through the night

Caressed by dawn’s soft light
We dance on
Song still plays in our Hearts
We still play in our Hearts
The words can be heard
Through our Eternities

I was surprised by this poem's arrival but am really pleased with the result ~ thank you Muse.

Abyss

Birthed in the very early hours of the first day of the year, when Muse says "you should write" I cannot argue.  A quote, seen in quite a few places, helped to bring this poem out.

"...when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." From "Beyond Good and Evil" by Friedrich Nietzsche.

 Abyss  -  01 Jan 12

Standing on the edge
I look down
The abyss
Looks back
With unblinking eyes

Sweet smell
Sage smoke
Wafts through my mind
Catches
A corner of my eye

Reminds me
Where I am
My toes grab the edge
I am
Where I must be

Gazing
Asking
Waiting

Happy to be posting things here to Muse on the first day of the New Year.

Pleasures [Countdown]

This poem was inspired, in part at least, by the fact that this is the last day of 2011 and while I was composing it the word "countdown" kept drifting through my mind and I realised that it was necessary to blend the two ideas into one whole.

Pleasures [Countdown]  -  31 Dec 11

The ghosts of our dreams
Dance in syncopated
Mystery
Over all the feelings
In all the times
We shared

Bodies scattered
In ecstatic abandon
From pleasured
Shared
Loves

I feel your touch
Unreserved
Giving without expectation
Taking with gratitude

We both knew
We both new
New worlds

Standing on the edge
Ready to fly

And now...?

Thank you Muse for offering me this new piece.
All that is left now is to say...

Shadows of the Moon

Another of the poems which grew from seed in the very early hours of the day. This time I am not certain where the seed came from but I am pleased with the effect and thank my Muse for showing it to me.

Shadows of the Moon - 24 Dec 11

Moon shine
Sun dark
Whispers of falling stars
Tell me of times
When we danced
When we kissed
Just to remind me
Of how things were

And now…

Shadows In an abandoned well
Act out the drama
Upon the stage
Supported by cobwebs
Followed by the dancers
Singers of the plaintive song
Dancers in the shadows

And then…

We kissed again
Our thoughts mingled
Blended
Grew together
Became one
In the light of the Moon
She knew
Smiled at us

And always…

Glancing through the Eternal Moment.

Journey Into Day

I find it fascinating, when Muse taps me on the shoulder and indicates that I should write something, the end result is - I feel - rather special.

Journey Into Day - 23 Dec 11

I’d come so far
Before I saw you
Before I knew
Who I was
Who you were

The long dark morning
Born out of dark night
Left the spirits watching
Keeping guard
In the empty places
Where the echoes
Of me
Still live

Reaching out
With unguided hand
Seeing
With sightless eyes
Waiting for the Sun

Touched by the Sun
Your light held me
As the harbour lights
Faded
I watched you
Held you
Dreamed you into me
…Dreamed

Come so far
Then I saw you
Finally I knew
Who I was
Who you were

Another of the poems birthed in the very early hours of the day - thanks for the prompt my Muse.

Waiting

This poem took a little while to get near to completion but it still didn't feel right, I asked a friend and two words were changed. This change improved the flow completely and I felt that it was ready to be posted here.

Waiting - 16 Dec 11

I waited for you
At the edge
Of time
I promised you
I would be there
Till you arrived

Aeons danced
Through our Eternity
Waves washed the shore
Time sang his sweet song
Echoed through the years

Your promise to me
Still whispers In my mind
…I will be there…
I see the smile in your eyes
Caressing my face
Kissing my Soul

I feel that it was worth the wait and my thanks to Muse and to my friend for the suggestions.
