Turn [Haiku]

.
An Haiku today.

Turn [Haiku]         -        07 Nov 22

Calm in the mind's eye
Seeing the world turn again
Not able to sleep

Sleep is not my problem.

Pulse [Acrostic]

.
A jumble of feelings.

Pulse [Acrostic]       -       05 Mar 22

Pulling through the unseen darkness
Universal attraction pulls the dream
Less than unspoken wishes
Seen in the minds eye blink
Everywhen the mind goes

When you work it out let me know please.

Flight Of Night

.
Panic from an unexpected place.

Flight Of Night      -     26 Nov 20

As if chased
The images of night
Flee
Scattering dust
Into the watching eye
Night is afraid
Of itself
What can it do
In the light
The flight of night
Causes panic in the
Nightmares

Calm them down.

Eyemagination

I was sitting and was convinced that I was actually looking at something and the title just appeared in my mind.

The poem formed itself as I sat.

Eyemagination  -  16 Sep 17

A fiction invented
By the wandering vision
Of a tired eye
Seeing what it thinks
It sees
Created in imagination
Because vision
Vaguely suggested
A form to watch

The spellchecker really dislikes  me.

Secret Smiles

Wordless communication, a lot can be said in a smile.

Secret Smiles  -  22 May 17

In a private moment
Eye contact
I watch the little secret messages
Your eyes give me
Wrapped in your
Secret smiles
Which no one else can see

Sharing secrets with YOU.

In The Dark Of An Eye

I am not certain where this came from but it is mildly disturbing I feel.

In The Dark Of An Eye  -  15 Dec 16

Expecting to see
And find answers
To unspoken questions
All I see is black
In the darkness
Eye see another question
Watching me

See what I mean?

Lost Colour

Searching for something which can never be seen.

Lost Colour  -  10 Nov 15

All my life
I kept looking
Searching
The colours never
Seemed complete
Always something
Missing
Yet caught by
The corner of the eye
...
Lost again

Except as a hint.

Moon Watcher

Seeing a photograph of a Moonbow and having witnessed some in the past, I was inspired to create this poem.

Moon Watcher  -  03 Aug 15

Ring around the Moon
Eye in the sky of night
Watching us
Eye of day
Moon still watches
Unnoticed in the blue

It is quite a stunning sight.

Surreptitious Watching

Just wondering what she is thinking.

Surreptitious Watching  -  21 Apr 15

Corner of my eye
I watch her
Watching me
If I move
She will know
That I have seen her
And I will lose
The feeling of Love
She sends to me
When she thinks
I am not watching
I wonder if she
Feels the same

Wondering if she is thinking what I am thinking.

Intent

I really do not know how to describe this poem, except with the possible "you are being watched by you" but even that does not quite feel valid.

Intent  -  19 Mar 15

The eye of tomorrow
Watches intently
Sees every move
Especially those which
Have not yet been made
Intent watching
Knows your hidden thoughts
Suggests intention
Then watches

Whatever the tag, I feel that the poem works.

Shadows On The Moon

A set of five poems in modern Haikū form.

Shadows On The Moon  -  14 Jan 15

I

Seeing me through
Your eyes
Unexpected insights

II

Sliding out from
Hidden corners
Shadows

III

In the dark of the Moon
Whispering secret
Incantations

IV

Hand in hand
We face the Sunrise
Join the Moondance

V

Shadows on the Moon
Carry all our images
Into the future

I felt that a little change was required.

Purple Night

Moving away from Love songs for a little while ...

Purple Night  -  05 Jan 14

Purple night
Random images drift
Across my mind’s eye
Sketched against
The sky
Trying to hide
In the field of stars
Still they watch me
Still I see them

And in my mind
Again
They dance

The Love songs will be back soon.

Key

In a moment of quiet, while workmen outside took a break, I saw a photograph of a key and this poem grew quite quickly.  It has an element of limite surréaliste about it.

Key   -  10 Sep 13

In the reflection of
The mind’s eye
A key
Seeing what it opens
Requesting permission
To enter

The doorway to your Heart
In the sea
Within you
Waves draw me on
To you
You draw me in to you

Also a small amount of inappropriate thoughts as well.

Beautiful Silence

This poem grew this afternoon and evening, apparently as a follow-on from the last one even though it really isn't a sequel or part of a series.

Beautiful Silence  -  07 Jun 13

Silence …
Words of Love
Need no sound
Just a look

Allow the silence
To surround
And bathe
And fill

Silence can be
So loud and yet
Just a touch
Says everything

Loving silence
Eye to eye
Heart to Heart
Soul to Soul

Silence is more than golden.

Dawn Flight

In early morning yesterday, as I was heading for bed [various things had delayed me] I looked out of my window and saw a flock of starlings sailing against the pale sky.  The seed was set and the whole poem was completed in the darkness of the following night.

Dawn Flight  -  10 Apr 13

In my mind’s ear
I hear the dawn chorus
Looking from my window
I watch the first flights
Starlings start
The feeding patrol

My mind’s eye
Sees the places
They visit and the sights
They gather
As they fly

My mind’s me
Soars with them
I see the world
From moor to sea
And beyond
I fly with the dawn

Interesting how inspiration can be sown by Muse and will grow into something rather unexpected.  Thank you Muse.

Haikū 80

More from the hand-written Haikū archives.

Navigate  -  01 Aug 10

You are the star by
which I navigate through this
world now ... every day

"Dreaming You"  -  01 Aug 10

Dreaming you into
my world ~ so I can have you
here with me always

"Dark Day"  -  01 Aug 10

Day, though early ...dark
Damp grass, grey sky, vision ... cloud
nobody smiling

"Mind's Eye"  -  01 Aug 10

Mind's eye sees the Sun
basking in its warmth, I sit
Dreaming other days

Icarus  -  02 Aug 10

Modern Icarus
I flew too close to your Sun
Your beauty burned me

There will be more soon.

Calling

Sitting, wondering what to do when suddenly Muse offered a few words to trigger a cascade of words of my own.

Calling  -  20 Jan 13

Moon over ocean
Songs calling me home
Alien stars in an
Alien sky
Beautiful … but not my own

She over me
Whispers calling me to her
Gentle Love touching
Embracing
Holding me tenderly

Worlds apart
Yet so close
Our worlds together
I close my eyes and
I am home … with you

Words from Muse are always interesting.

Abyss

Birthed in the very early hours of the first day of the year, when Muse says "you should write" I cannot argue.  A quote, seen in quite a few places, helped to bring this poem out.

"...when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." From "Beyond Good and Evil" by Friedrich Nietzsche.

 Abyss  -  01 Jan 12

Standing on the edge
I look down
The abyss
Looks back
With unblinking eyes

Sweet smell
Sage smoke
Wafts through my mind
Catches
A corner of my eye

Reminds me
Where I am
My toes grab the edge
I am
Where I must be

Gazing
Asking
Waiting

Happy to be posting things here to Muse on the first day of the New Year.
