Underway

.
A long journey has begun.

.
Underway       -       19 Apr 21

Engines sing their soft song
Telling us that all is well
Harbour is a long way off
Gone from our sight
We are underway
To a new land
Will the stars welcome us

.
A really long journey between the worlds.

Voyage

.
The edge of a step into the unknown.

.
Voyage   -   21 Aug 19

Watching the harbour
Slipping away into the mists
I feel sadness
Excitement
Mixed within me
As the voyage begins
Sliding into exploration

.
Leaving home but looking forward to the new horizons.

Waiting For The Tide

A harbour story for your pleasure today.

Waiting For The Tide  -  17 Feb 18

Still at anchor
In the harbour
Waiting for the tide
To change
Allow movement
And set us free
To sail the ocean
On our way soon

Tide will be high enough soon.

Safe Harbour

A gentle Love song.

Safe Harbour  -  18 Dec 15

Drifting into the arms
Of a Lover
Who cares
Protects
Safe against all storms
A gentile kiss
Harbour lights
A soft sweet smile
To guide the way

This seems to be continuing the theme of protection.

Watching In The Mist

A Love song of waiting about to be fulfilled.

Waiting In The Mist  -  16 Dec 15

Watching
For you to appear
You told me
You were on your way
To see me
Mist wrapped me
In a cool blanket
But still
I watched

I see your ship

Watching
Waiting for the harbour
To become clear
Lights shining
Halos in the mist

I see you

Lovely feeling, knowing that you are about to see the one you Love.

Blue Before Night

Fantasy and reality blend in this poem with a little touch of Love song to add a bit more flavour.

Blue Before Night  -  01 Mar 15

Failing daylight
Sun below the horizon
Clouds thrown into
Silhouette
Against a cerulean sky
Welcoming the night

Colours fade from the sky
Clouds majestic sail
Eastward
Leaving a dusty red
In their wake
Dreams ahead

A new shore calls
Lights in the harbour
Glinting on the waves
Welcoming
Dreams await in the night
Like Lovers

The Moon
Lantern
Shining through a hint
Of rain
Lights the way
To you

I feel that I have sailed on this ship to you.

Northern Lights

A Love song calling us back together.

Northern Lights  -  31 Dec 14

Ocean waves
Flow around me
The harbour calls me
Home
Northern lights
Shine for me

I remember the days
We spent together
Alone
But never alone
Together
Ready to share again

We met in the harbour
Kisses painted the way
Our Hearts already knew
Waves could never keep
Us apart for long
I am returning to you

Sailing home again
Your kisses call me
I cannot argue
Against the call
Soon I shall be there
Sharing again

Because of the connection we were never really apart.

I Wonder

A Love song, written in a folk ballad style, with a touch of melancholy.

I Wonder  -  28 Oct 13

A tall ship stands
In the western harbour
And I wonder
Who she is waiting for

A soft wind
Gathers the scent of spice
From the sea
To carry it across the land

I remember those mellow days
Filled with warm sunshine
And I wonder
Who is waiting there now

A sweet voice
Gathers my memories
From wherever they lie
To carry them back to me

A gentle touch of a soft hand
Wakes the Love within me
And I wonder
Shall I see her again?

This was born just after the one posted yesterday, it came as something of a surprise to me when it emerged.

Journey Into Day

I find it fascinating, when Muse taps me on the shoulder and indicates that I should write something, the end result is - I feel - rather special.

Journey Into Day - 23 Dec 11

I’d come so far
Before I saw you
Before I knew
Who I was
Who you were

The long dark morning
Born out of dark night
Left the spirits watching
Keeping guard
In the empty places
Where the echoes
Of me
Still live

Reaching out
With unguided hand
Seeing
With sightless eyes
Waiting for the Sun

Touched by the Sun
Your light held me
As the harbour lights
Faded
I watched you
Held you
Dreamed you into me
…Dreamed

Come so far
Then I saw you
Finally I knew
Who I was
Who you were

Another of the poems birthed in the very early hours of the day - thanks for the prompt my Muse.
