Wrapped in the velvet cloak of night
With you by my side
Soft touches ask if I am awake
Or in our dream already

My breath on your cheek
As I smell your kiss
And taste the nectar of you
Warm honeyed lips

Mysteries blossom covering us
With their scent and the warm cloak
Enfolds us further
Holding us close

The title came first and sat in my mind for many hours before the poem actually grew.  This has just a little more than the usual "limite surréaliste" elements to it.

This poem feels just a little strange to me.

Secret Mysteries

Another "limite surréaliste" poem.  This one grew without any expectation or, seemingly, without any inspiration point, even the title was the last to appear.

She leads me on
With promises
Of her mysteries
Offered to unfold
Around me
Stories captivate
Paint the depths
With words
Her petals open





On re-reading the poem I realise that the subject could be a woman or a flower, possibly both at the same time.

Footprints on the waters
Cleaving the waves
Diving
Spiral dance
Water born
Carried to the depths

On crystal paths
We walked
Invited on
By a Dolphin’s song
Across the map

Crystal halls
Surround and shine
Through our dreams
Where mysteries are told

Records in the Amethyst
Inscribed ~ shown
As we read

Dolphins give us Amethysts
Then request that we

Move on

Labyrinth

This is the first esoteric, or even occult, poem I have written for an age.  I am rather pleased with the result.

The labyrinth of the mind
Lies behind the secret doors
That hide the mysteries
In plain view

Wolf chants a lullaby
In ancient sacred words
Only the raven knows
The hidden meanings

Raven watches as we dance
The labyrinth and see
Vistas unfold to us
Circling ~ opening our minds

Wolf and raven leave a trail
Of words for us to follow
Beyond the labyrinth’s centre
Opens us to the mysteries

Some while ago I wrote an "Elements" poem but Muse decided that it was time for another look at the concept with a different slant on the feeling of the poem.  I know better than to argue with Muse so here is the new offering.

Sky

Shrouds of air
In finite wrappings
Infinite in feel
Her gentle breath
Coaxing future memories
Into being


Sun

She warmed me and whispered
Gently
Mischievously
Teasingly
Promised hot fires of
Passion
When I arrived


Sea

She waited for me
Her thoughts called me
To walk with her beside the waves
She invited me
Her kisses
Formed a prize
Tempting me


Sand

Along the sand
On an empty shore
Mysteries
Waiting to be


Soul

As one …

The alchemical elements of Air, Fire, Water, Earth and Spirit are here represented by Sky, Sun, Sea, Sand and Soul.  It was only when building the poem here that the alliteration of the "S" theme was formed and the title of the first segment was changed from "Cloud" to Sky.
