Windchimes

Let the bells sing for you.

Windchimes  08 Mar 17

Secret sacred bells
Summoned by Æolus
To sing
Enchantments
Into the world
Wind whispered to the bells
Chimes talk to us
Wrap our thoughts
In mystery

Even in the gentlest breeze the song can be heard.

Wings Of Jet

A little "limite surréaliste" inspired, for some reason, by a fairly well-known nursery rhyme.  I heard the words rolling round my mind and I realised there was more to be said.

Wings Of Jet  -  15 Apr 15

She shall have music
Nightfall shall not quiet
The singers
Wings of jet
Wrapped around the day
Wherever she goes
The ancient songs
Follow and follow again
Reeling around the day
Draw feathers in the dance
Ring of bells complete

For those who do not know the nursery rhyme ~

Ride a Cock Horse to Banbury Cross

Ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross
To see a fine lady upon a white horse
With rings on her fingers and bells on her toes
She shall have music wherever she goes.

Wind Singer

This was inspired partially by the weather and partially by a remembered  poem of mine.

Wind Singer  -  15 Jul 14

Wind dancer
Moves to the music
She makes
Bells chime for her
Æolian harp plays softly
Wind singer
Sweetly forms the songs
Sings along
To the rhythm
From the trees
Wind whisperer
Carries the secret words
Spoken in Love
When only whispers
Can carry the meaning

I Love the way that seemingly random, unrelated things rise to offer something new.

Gateway

Another short poem which grew from the opening line into what you see here.

Gateway  -  10 Sep 13

Gates of Paradise
Held open by a friendly hand
Inviting ~ showing the way
Temple bells softly chime
Concord of bliss
Sweet sounds resound
Inspire the dance

I find it quite interesting that a line can trigger an entire poem ~ especially when I have no idea where it is coming from or where it is going.

Shades of Night

In these lines so many meanings lie woven, intertwined, bound in the fabric.
I read my words repeatedly and each time see something different ... what do you see?

Shades of Night  -  25 Jan 13

Opening to the dark
Mystic shades circle
In nightshade robes

Beautiful woman
Crying in her night
Room encloses her dream

Tears blur the candle
Painted stars peel from her walls
Make a doorway to somewhen

A peal of bells ring out
Cracked … discordant
Dawn breaks the night

Broken worlds lost in time
Grass conducts a symphony
Wave on wave

Ocean dark
White horses ride the waves
Canter cantata opening move

Opening to the dark
. . .

Written in the very early hours of the day, ages since sunset and more till sunrise ... Moon keeps me company as Muse whispers.
