Questing

.
The answers often take a long time to appear.

Questing      -     17 Feb 21

Through long days
Across the plains
Of the wilderness
I have been questing
Searching for many answers
Any answers
Hoping to find them

The questions have
Grown tired of being asked
Until I see the answers
I shall have to keep
Questing

Sometimes the answers take very long to appear.

Dream Grows

A mildly philosophical offering today.

Dream Grows  -  15 Mar 16

In little steps
Upon the foundations
We move through
A wilderness
Of broken promises
Still carrying our dream
It will grow
Not with the telling
But with the living

The best way to grow a dream.

No Boundaries

A declaration about play-space.

No Boundaries  -  13 Aug 14

No boundaries
Open flight over uncharted
Wilderness
In dream space
We drew for ourselves
Creating a place
Where we could play
Without boundaries

The only way to play.

Stillness

Another glimpse of the wilderness, images in the pre-dawn dark.

Stillness  -  01 Nov 13

In the moments
Between moonset
And sunrise
Darkness fills
The wilderness
Hear my song

Your voice
Carries across the sky
Fills my mind
And in the wilderness
I ask you
Sing my song

Silence holds
The trackless land
Waits with bated breath
For sunrise
Stillness holds me
Be my song

There may be more wilderness poems somewhen soon.

Wilderness

With quite a large measure of "limite surréaliste" I present this poem, birthed amid the sound of winds and rain.

Wilderness  -  28 Oct 13

No path to follow
Feeling a hand
Taking mine
Leading me
Urging me on
Wanting to show
A secret
Help me to see
She waits
Patiently
Till the secret
Unfolds

It would be interesting to see where this trackless way through the wilderness leads.

Eclipse Visitation

Written to honour the lunar eclipse, even though I did not actually get to see it.
This poem is also a Love song and should be read as such in that light too.

Eclipse Visitation  -  19 Oct 13

In the wilderness
Beneath the Moon’s gaze
I wait
Blood shadow
Drifts across her face
Eclipse

In the darkness
My Lady comes to me
Takes me in her arms
Lays soft kisses on me
Whispers
~ Our Love is Eternal ~

Moonlight returns
I still hear My Lady’s voice
Whispers echo loud
Across the wilderness
~ We will always be together
Remember ~

These events are really powerful, as are the consequences.

Deserted Dreams

I was reading a poem by my Lovely friend dani when Muse suggested that I paid more attention to two words.  I asked permission to use them and the poem flowed very quickly.

Deserted Dreams  -  30 May 13

On an old tired landscape
Shapes lie abandoned
Discarded
Like old memories
Near forgotten
From mind

Crying in the wilderness
Of yesterday
Hanging on the thorns
Of misremembered days
Like tattered cloth
Deserted dreams

They hope to be collected
Patched ~ pieced together
Made whole again
To fill the space left
Where the dreams
Used to play

The poem I read can be found here ~

~ and I really would Love to thank dani for permission to quote from her poem.

I would also thank Muse for drawing my attention to these words.

Haikū 81

More from the hand-written Haikū archives.

Weak I  -  02 Aug 10

Just a weak response
I said "I Love you" and you
just smiled back at me

Weak II  -  02 Aug 10

When you smiled at me
my knees felt weak ... my Heart raced
Lost in the moment

Willow + Soar + Resistant  -  03 Aug 10

Above the willow
Wings ~ resistant to rain ~ lift
The eagle shall soar

Rash  -  03 Aud 10

Saying "No" to you
A truely rash decision
one I will regret

Out  -  03 Aug 10

In the wilderness
Out of the known world I go ...
Your tracks lead me on

The two "Weak" offerings show what could be opposite sides of the same story ~ one, in which Love is rebuffed and the other shows acceptance.

There will be more poems to come soon.

Wild Dreams

The first lines were going to be the basis of a short piece, maybe a Gogyohka, but Muse said that it should be larger and so I present...

Wild Dreams - 01 Oct 10

In the wilderness
Beyond the city
The wild dreams
Grow
Exploring
The world
In ways that only they
Can understand
Or do

Wild dreams
Shine the light
Into dark recesses
To show us
There is nothing
To fear
To fly
And be
Our destiny

Wild dreams
Guide us
Show us the way
Share the love
Show us how to be...
Wild dreamers

In the wilderness...was where I found this and it sounds like a fun place to go.
