Round Dance

The full moon showed herself and inspired a few words.

Round Dance  -  20 Aug 13

Round
Her dance continues
She shares herself
With all
Face veiled
Deep in thought
Always watching us
We dance her dance
Throughout our lives
Inspired by her moves

I have visited this Moon dance theme on several occasions through the years in which I have been writing poetry.

Rain Wash

This poem was inspired while looking out of my window on a dark afternoon, watching the rain fall and seeing two young people walking past laughing and without any form of rain protection.

Rain Wash  -  18 Aug 13

Gentle drops
Chase each other
Across the sky
Cascade around me
Wet
Happy
Shower in the rain

Tomorrows wind
Blows through my memory
Catching the raindrops
Making rainbows
For us
We
Shower in colours

I Love the way Muse offers her suggestions.

Completing

A few more little naughty thoughts.

Completing  -  18 Aug 13

Soft gentle touches
Shift my thoughts
Return them to her
Completing me with her

Gentle touches
Of her thoughts
Caress my mind
Wake me to her

Soft lips lay a trail
Of kisses
In sometimes
Unexpected places

Sensuous sigh
Warm breeze from her Heart
Blowing softly
On my skin

I rather like naughty thoughts *naughty grin*.

Eldren

I thought this was going to take me in a totally different direction but instead I was brought here.

Eldren  -  16 Aug 13

The rocky road
Leads to a land
Where the watchers watch

The children of the Old Ones
Have been there
Through all Eternity

Inviting us to see
With their eyes and
Look

My original idea is still bubbling away...

Pale Moon

I was aware that the honeysuckle was in bloom and my memory reminded me of the fragrance, from this was the poem birthed.

Pale Moon  -  16 Aug 13

Pale Moon shines
Darkness is near complete
Flowers of night
Give their perfume
To the sky
In serenade
For the stars

I can still see the flowers and smell them too.

Night Of Dream

Another example of the title forming first followed after quite a long pause by the rest of the poem.

Night Of Dream  -  15 Aug 13

Cocoon of Moon
Cradling into the darkness
Starlight shadows
On the wall
Outline the dreams
Sketched in pastel colours
On the blackboard of night
Dreams have life
Revealed by darkness
Close your eyes
And see them

This is not quite what I was expecting but I feel that it works.

Need

I was convinced that this had to be a long poem, wrote the title and the first stanza then let it sit and "cook" for a while.  I looked at it again and tried to compose the second stanza but nothing would come.
It was only when I re-read it that I realised that it was actually complete.

Need  -  14 Aug 13

I touched you
Gently
Called you to me
So I could hold you
And ask you
Please
Hold me

Sometimes Muse surprises me with her negative suggestions.

Part Of My World

Another example of a poem growing out of the title line.  It actually arrived from Muse and I had to wait for the actual poem to follow ~ I was convinced that owls would feature since I could hear Tawny Owls calling through my open window but Muse had other ideas.

Part Of My World  -  13 Aug 13

Moments of existence
Secret places in my mind
Hold time in a gentle grasp
Paints a memory
On the walls
For me to read

Dreams wrap
Velvet claws
Around the shattered
Fragments of a strange
Reality
Sculpted by my thoughts

My world overlaps me
In ways unexpected
Here a shard of me
Reflects a small part
Infinitesimal
Of my world

Maybe Owls will appear tomorrow.

Earth Song

This poem grew in the very early hours of the day and has its roots in many different places.

Earth Song  -  12 Aug 13

The song of ancient Earth
Has been carried
Through the ages
Like an hymn
A battle cry
An open prayer
A Love song

She has waited
In time and times
Illuminated by the stars
Sipping from a cup
Of wine
In the gardens of Love
Waiting

Mildly inspired by “Das Lied von der Erde”  ~ Gustav Mahler

Inappropriate Thoughts

Sitting, wondering how to start this poem when some interesting thoughts passed through my mind ~ 'twas a very short step to this poem forming.

Inappropriate Thoughts  -  11 Aug 13

Watching you
Thinking of how we met
Wondering how
We can take this further
Touching you
Caressing you
My lips exploring
Your hands wandering
Across around over
Sigh …
Thoughts wandering
Across around over
Resting in places
Secret thoughts
Giving pleasure

A slightly naughty grin ☺
