Sacred Songs

.
They know.

Sacred Songs        -       24 Jan 22

The sun sets on a long day
Bringing peace to a tired world
Unicorns watch and sing
The special sacred songs
We all know and remember
Even though we choose
Not to sing them ourselves
But still we hear them
When our eyes are closed

They would really like us to join in and sing.

Riddles

.
The ancient words.

Riddles      -     03 Jan 22

You speak to me
In riddles which hurt
You sing in the morning
With words that were old
Even then
And nobody
Learned the tongue
Yet still you knew

The words which were old when the world was young.

Breathing The Stars

.
Magic of the night, listen.

Breathing The Stars    -    09 Nov 19

I watch the night
Paint the sky with stars
And I wait breathing
In the darkness
Dawn holds back
To let the stars sing
And I wait breathing

Have you listened to the stars?

Night Sky

The title explains where this poem is going.

Night Sky  -  20 Jun 16

Over all
The rainbow stars
Dance in their
Ordered patterns
Surround us with
The wonders and joy
Of the night sky
Listen to the stars
As they sing to us

In Love with star song.

Ripples On The Stream

A Love song about YOU.

Ripples On The Stream  -  15 May 16

Ripples on the stream
Talk to me
They echo
The cadence of you
You dance on the water
Reflecting your beauty
To me

Ripples on the stream
Sing to me
Words can never complete
The song
Without your voice

Always about YOU.

Threads Of Sun

Reading the tapestry for all to see.

Threads Of Sun  -  07 May 16

Images stitched across the floor
By threads of sunlight
Imagined words still speak
In forgotten tongues
Haunting my mind
Remembering when we were
Reminding us who we were
Gathering the threads
We weave them again
Into the light of the sun
And sing the words
We knew when time was young

Reach out and gather the threads.

Whispers In Chorus

A Love song, song.

Whispers In Chorus  -  28 Apr 16

Music is unnecessary
As we sing our song
Together
Whispers syncopated
A chorus line
Of Love

Just reinforcing the concept here.

The Singer And The Muse [Re-impassioned]

This new poem grew fairly quickly and interrupted what I was watching.  It insisted that it was written and finished without any interruptions getting in the way.

It was nearly complete when I realised that it was a piece which complimented and extended an old poem of mine so I have included that one too.

The Singer And The Muse  -  22 Feb 14
[Re-impassioned]

In a forest clearing
An ancient cottage stands
There my true Love lies
Waiting …
… Waiting

From the Ocean depths
I call to her ~ ask her to come
To be with me
Yearning …
… Yearning

I sing to my Muse ~ she answers
Fingers touch stroking playing
The keys of our Love
Growing …
… Growing

The Singer And The Muse
[The Original Version]

A broken melody
Charméd forth by fingers idly touching …
A key depressed

The Singer and the Muse join hands
A hummingbird flies
A sweet song in a minor key
Brings tears to ancient eyes

And deep within a hidden valley
A fountain plays
Far from the sight and sign of man

When I can recall the date when this first version was written I shall insert it here.

I guess that these are both "limite surréaliste" and Love songs too.

Shining Key

This poem came to me a couple of lines at a time till it was fully formed.

Shining Key  -  29 Sep 13

The key I gave you
To hold safe
Still shines
My Heart still craves
Your touch
Your lips
Have shaped me
Made me sing

Now the key is yours
Use it  to open me
Take me to you

A Love poem with a little extra.

Sunrise

The opening line kept reverberating through my mind till I actually wrote it as the first line and the rest seemed to flow.

Sunrise  -  04 Aug 13

Purple sunrise
Paints the desert
Lights the sky
In ways unexpected

Soul paints sunrise
Taking forms
Turning them
We sing them now

Song of sunrise
Wisps of smoky cloud
Wrapped around us
We swim in purple

Still not certain what it is about.

Rhapsody

Part three of the quintilogy, hope you are enjoying it so far.

Rhapsody  -  15 Jun 13

A song
Flows through us all
Each has their
Own unique part
To sing
In the piece
Forming
One movement
Which never ends

I find it quite interesting to discover definitations for words I thought I knew the meanings and find that I only knew part.

Melody

This is the second of five related poems ~ I will share the inspiration for the set when it is complete but for now ...

Melody  -  14 Jun 13

The stars in their glory
Still sing the melody
That was old
When the stars were young
And worlds were just a thought
In their dreams

Now is the time
To open your minds
And open your Hearts
And sing along
You know the melody
You know the words ~ just sing

Thank you to Muse for suggesting the related series and for a few little hints along the way.

In An Afternoon Dream

In a sleepy afternoon, gentle sounds drifted through the warmth of the day and this poem was birthed and grew quite quickly.  I felt that posting it here in Muse now would be a good idea.

In An Afternoon Dream  -  23 Jul 12

She

A secret smile
Shown only to me
Warmth from her Heart

Touched

In ways that can never
Be explained
Brought Love

Me

Accepted Love from me
In ways she alone knew
How to take

Made

Showed me that I
Could become
We ~ and grow

Me

In the Infinities of possibilities
Our Eternities
Shine brightly

Sing

I thank Muse for the inspiration and gentle nudges.

Reality

After another long gap something has appeared, it feels to me that it is the first part of a new on-going series of fantasy poems.  I shall have to wait and see what Muse suggests to me about what might come next.

Reality  -  03 Jun 12

On the edge of reality
Where suns and moons shine
With unexpected colours
And winged horses
Fly through mountainous
Skies

There dreams take shape
Before the dance begins
Words crystallise
Into lines
For Muses to sing
Into being

Going with what Muse prompts me to see...
