Tree

.
A sad tale.

.
Tree     -     17 Mar 21

Flags flying
Across the fields
Battle foments too much
Sadness

A solitary tree
Bows its head in sorrow
It has seen too much loss
In the time standing here
Wants to see
No more

.
Nobody wants to see more sorrow.

Voyage

.
The edge of a step into the unknown.

.
Voyage   -   21 Aug 19

Watching the harbour
Slipping away into the mists
I feel sadness
Excitement
Mixed within me
As the voyage begins
Sliding into exploration

.
Leaving home but looking forward to the new horizons.

You Took Me

This is quite a tender Love song.

You Took Me  -  18 Nov 15

In those momnts
When sadness rules
I feel a gentle touch
Your arms wrapped
Around me
You took  me
On a journey
To explore possibilities
In ways I never expected
Sights unseen before
You took me
Into your Heart
To show me
What Love is
And what Love
Was all about
You took me
Into your Love

Filled with caring and Love.

Verge Of Tears

I do not often write sad songs and poems but when I do they are always Heart-felt.  Publishing this slightly out of sequence, it should appear a couple of days from now, but I felt that it was important for me to show this now.

Verge Of Tears  -  24 Jun 14

Walking in sadness
Disconsolate
On the verge of tears
Because of misunderstood
Words

Sitting in silence
Wrapped in the gathering gloom
Of after sunset
Feeling my Soul
Has been torn

Then the tears fell
Salty rain upon my cheeks
Accompanied by the silent
Thunder of an headache
Sad dance

Just something to say how I feel.

Tap-tap-tapping

Inspiration sometimes comes from really obvious places, I had intended to be out somewhere but the weather changed my mind for me - cameras and rain do not really mix.

Tap-tap-tapping - 25 Jan 11

I looked out
Watched the rain
Listened to it
Tap-tap-tapping
On my window

I had been called
Out
To walk
To play
Even though the sky
Was grey
But then I felt it
Tap-tap-tapping
On my head

All the things
I had intended
For the day
But
A tiny sadness
Now holds me
And little tears are
Tap-tap-tapping
On my heart

And now the sun
Has set
Behind the veil of cloud
From which the rain
Still falls
I only hear...not see
The drops
Tap-tap-tapping
On the glass

Waiting to see
What the morrow
Will bring...

Weather has an, often profound, impact on our lives - or sometimes it just raises a little smile.

Secretly Waiting

Sitting in a dark afternoon with several thoughts passing through my mind, muse tapped me gently on the shoulder and suggested that I start to write. This is what flowed from my fingers...

Secretly Waiting - 18 Nov 10

Secretly waiting
Pretending that I don't really care
But when you aren't here
Sadness fills my thoughts
And my eyes blur
Vision fades
Cracked images
Show themselves
To me

Wondering
Whether you will ever come back
To fill the space
You created when
You left
My eyes still see you
Standing with me
Walking with me
Being with me

Now I feel
Eternity is closing around me
Leaving me stranded
Beached
Like driftwood
On the shore
Alone
Always
Alone

Secretly waiting
Again

Sad songs are often the most fulfilling despite the content - I will leave you to comment, if you choose.
