Snowflake

A song of longing.

Snowflake  -  11 Feb 17

On a cold day
I hear it
A snowflake singing
In the distance
A simple song
Of wordless longing
Taken from the cloud
To fly over the land
Looking for a place
Somewhere to be

Drifting and seeking.

Dawn Love

The three stanzas you see here were birthed on different occasions.  The second one was born first when I was in bed awaiting sleep, quite a few weeks ago.  The first arrived a couple of nights ago, perhaps that should be mornings ago because I was rather late in heading for bed.  The final stanza arrived this afternoon [22 Apr 13] as I was contemplating how to put the poem together.  I feel that all three work rather well as a unified whole.

Dawn Love  -  22 Apr 13

Dawn chorus
In a slightly frosted world
Blackbird sings
A strident solo
While collared doves
A soft choir
Sings a backing song

I declare my Love ~
Spoken in the morning
Breeze ~
She will hear me there

Aria sung
The air is quiet but
Now I hear her voice
Answering me
Sweet words
Fill my ears
And my Heart

There are times when I am certain that Muse plays her little games with me.

The Sounds of Time

The first few lines of this poem were born a few days ago followed by a kind of silence.  Maybe it was a little joke by Muse, given the title of the poem.  I'm really not certain what was happening but today the rest of the poem was suddenly birthed.

The Sounds of Time  -  08 & 15 Jul 12

Susurration
Sand between fingers
Sensuously
Slide

Slipping under feet
Sea kisses our toes
Sowing new memories
Seeding dreams

Slow
Seconds
Stretch into hours
Stretch into days

Sounds of time
Secret songs
Sung out loud
Souls in harmony

Singing

I'm puzzled by the alliteration and not certain how it was formed but I do like the effect.

I Exist

Another of my poems exploring different phases of existence, places I have lived and things I have experienced.

I Exist - 18 Apr 02

I exist there
In the dawn
That place before creation
Before the song began
Before the music

I exist there
In the shapeless
Formless shadows
Of the evening
After the singer ends her song
As the music fades

I exist there
In all the places
Where you can go or have been
In the eternal day
So we can sing all our songs
And play our myriad melodies

I exist
I am
You am
We am
I

I don't think there is much more to say about this poem.

Singing and Whispering

A little love song about a love song - this is the only way I can describe this poem.

Singing and Whispering - 25 Aug 09

You sang for me
In the space between
The rain and the moon

You whispered
Sweet words to me
As you thought I slept

I shall forever treasure
The memory of the sound
Of your voice

As you sang, as you whispered
Those words to me
"I love you"

Autobiographical? I will leave you to ponder...

Yes, I'm smiling again.
