Far Side

After rather a long pause, Muse offered a change in direction.  This took a little while to come to fruition and the result feels promising, what do you think?

Far Side  -  18 & 22 May 12

From the far side
Of now
We watched

Stars danced
A gavotte
For our pleasure

Flurry ~ skirts twirled
A moment
Frozen in our eyes

Fleeting movement
Bagatelle danced
Brief gentle wordless song

Whispered Love
Inviting
Calling us

Feet hardly move
We
Joined the dance

I think that these changes hold an interest and can be explored, thank you Muse.

Return

This poem took a surprisingly long time to emerge fully, almost as though I had to live through the cold winds.  Whatever the reason for this slow growth, I now present it here.

Return  -  21, 22 & 26 Apr 12

Too long
Have I stayed away
The stars
Have moved on in their courses
Drawn
New pictures
Across the sky

New legends
Illustrated
In the imagination
Of the watchers

But now
The winds are changing
The old ways
Are gone
The weather says storms ahead
The winds of change
Blow cold

I have been called back
To take my place
To stand at the head
Of the watchers

Was it worth the wait?  You tell me...
I thank Muse [as usual] for the various prompts and thanks also go to a lovely fellow Blogger who accidentally presented a seed thought.

Night in the Garden

My suspicions were correct ~ this is a new segment of the Garden of Infinity sequence.  I cannot be certain if there are more parts to come, I shall just have to wait and see.

Night in the Garden  -  14 Apr 12

Mist shrouded Moon
Pale glow
Hanging on the Eastern skyline

She lit a candle
Put it in the window
To guide her Lover

He saw the flame
Heard his Lover whisper…
Her voice loud ~ in his Soul

Reaching for each other
Hands touch ~ lips touch
Bodies flow together

Night completes…
Garden mysteries
Eternal stories

It is never a good idea for me to attempt to pre-guess what Muse has in store for me.

A Moment in the Garden

This is part three of the Garden sequence, I had no idea that there was more and originally felt that there was only one poem.  This part first started to emerge very late last night and grew to completion this afternoon.

A Moment in the Garden  -  08 & 09 Apr 12

Arms around each other
They barely moved
Savouring
The moment
Of completion

Sun touched treetops
Above them
Filtered light
Golden-green
Bathed them

Her face ~ her body
Permanently etched
On his Heart
His Love
Forever

His face ~ his body
Held forever
On her Heart
Cradled
Permanently

The moment of forever
Passion
Flames brightly burn
The moments
In the Garden of Eternity

Now that this part has grown, I cannot help but wonder if there is more to this story to come.

At the Water's Edge

This poem was first birthed a couple of days ago but only the first line survived and the rest grew quite quickly today.
In the Garden of Infinity [see the last poem] flows a stream...

At the Water's Edge  -  02 & 07 Apr 12

Watching
He waited
With a feeling that he
Was being watched

He crouched
Drank cool stream water
From cupped hands
Nectar

Remembered kisses
Shared in the night
Love wrapped a blanket
Beneath a frosted Moon

“Beloved…”
Sweet voice
Gentle hand
Placed on his neck

Standing
He looked into her eyes
Rekindled the kisses
Breathed her in

Pressed together
They became one
In the moment
In the Garden of Eternity

Muse works in mysterious ways but I am grateful.

The Garden of Infinity

This poem took quite a long time to grow, the first stanza appeared a few nights ago followed by a rather long gap but, suddenly, last night the remainder appeared quickly and smoothly.  So, now, here is...

The Garden of Infinity  -  25 & 29 Mar 12

Her footsteps
Gently caressed the lawn
Silent
As a whisper
In the night

Her feet
Kissed by the dew
Washed by beauty
Then dried
By the sun at dawn

Her smile
Pales the intensity
Of the rose
And makes the day
Even warmer

Her Soul
Patiently waiting
In the Garden
For her Lover
To join her

It is quite unusual for a poem to take a long while to grow or rather - emerge into the world but even then I am usually pleased with the result.  Thank you Muse.

Watching

At five in the morning as I was preparing for bed I noticed a glow in the Eastern sky, I looked out of the bathroom window and was rewarded with the sight of a crescent Moon a few days before New Moon.  Muse kept pushing that image and a few words at me for over a day till eventually it all came together this afternoon.

Watching  -  18 Mar 12

Five AM
Still cold ~ dark sky
Selene watches her Lover
As he sleeps
Fights the urge to
Touch him
Wake him
Kiss him

Craves his touch
Wants his warmth

She does not know
Secretly ~
He watches her
Never sleeping
Her warm smile
Always
Touches his Heart
Embraces his Soul

I will always thank Muse for my inspiration.

Webs and Dreams

This poem actually started to grow in the middle of the night [there's a surprise] and came fully to the surface today.  I feel that it is complete and have decided to post it now.

Webs and Dreams  -  10 & 11 Mar 12

Spellcaster
Wove
A web of words
About our lives
To trap our dreams
So we could
Live them
Feel them
Be them

Weaver of dreams
Shaped a world
In which we could play
Allowed the dream
To leak
Into our world
So we could
Touch them
See them
Be them

Builder of Love
Created our space
In which we could grow
Allowed our Love
To fill our world
So we could
Live it
Feel it
Touch it
See it
Be it

Once again I have to thank Muse for pushing ideas gently into my mind.

Wind ~ Primal Thoughts

After a long pause, of about two months during which Muse assisted me to create poems for A River of Stones and The Haiku Challenge, we return.
Inspired by the wind and by various feelings that the wind engendered in me this poem grew quite quickly...

Wind  -  02 Mar 12
Primal Thoughts

Wind
Scratches round corners
Rushes across the fields
Carries the scent
From the Sea
Tears clouds
From the sky
Scatters them across
The hilltops
Litters
The valleys

Wind
Whispers in my mind
…Reminds me
Shakes the memories
Loose
To clatter among
Loose thoughts

Wind
Ripples her clothes
Sends shivers
Through me
Pleasant thoughts

Wind
Strokes my neck
Or is it … her?

Wind

It was only when I was nearly finished that I noticed that the construction was formed using Prime numbers for each stanza ~ hence the alternate title.
We are happy to be back ♥

4 am

Preparing for bed, I caught sight of the Moon riding low in the North-western sky and Muse requested that I start to write.  So the first stanza was birthed, I was actually in bed and starting to drift off to sleep when Muse started to nag me about there being more...turn over - grab pen and pad...

4 am  -  03 Feb 12

I

Dawn so long away
But
In the western sky
A pregnant Moon
Counts the days
As she presides
Over a frost rimed land
Hand rests on her belly
“Soon little one…soon”

II

Frost maiden’s
Scattered crystals
Accentuate
The naked trees

I never feel that it is a good idea to argue with Muse
