Songs Of Love

These really are "Songs" there are four here for your reading pleasure.
The first stanza is a Senryū, the second is a Gogyohka, the third is an Acrostic and the last is a “modern Haikū”

Fairy boat sails on the stream
Takes my Heart to you

You sing the harmony
I sing the counterpoint
Our world filled with music
As we take the melody
Beyond expectations

I took liberties with "What Big Teeth You Have" ~ I think the prompt really wanted to see the phrase kept intact.
"Shun" has  never been published before and it has a similar feel to an Haikū which appeared in the archive sequence a little while ago.

Gogyohka 1

This is the first posting of poems from the hand-written Gogyohka archives.
For those who do not know ~ Gogyohka have roots in the Tanka tradition but where Tanka do have a strict syllabic structure [5 : 7 : 5 : 7 : 7] Gogyohka only have to contain a five-line pattern and the syllable count can vary completely.

This poem grew as I was walking to the cliffs; partially inspired by something said to me before I left my house, partially by the image I photographed and partially though listening to the sea.

Come
Listen to my whispered
Tales
Of distant lands
Come
Listen to the songs I
Sing
Of men and ships
Who brave my depths
Come
Listen to my secrets
And
I shall listen to
You
Whisper to me
As you stand
On my shore

Call me to your life





The title is a Gogyohka which I embedded into the photograph.
I think this concept works quite well - what say you?

Rainbows

In the very early hours of the day I kept hearing the word rainbows in various places, internal and external...and it was only when I really started to think about what I was hearing that this poem, or rather, series of poems were birthed. Before going to bed I realised that this was going to be a set of acrostic images and just after I woke I constructed the framework on which the poems were built.





Rainbows - 29 May 10

Reeds against the sky
Etched silhouettes against blue
Day just beginning

Overhead the sky is clear
Rain has washed it clean
Amber sunlight
Now begins to paint the dawn
Glowing with the
Energy of a new day

You brought me through with words
Eloquent, written on my heart
Love poems filled with
Little words...filled with you
Overflowing with the love
Written from your heart

Gathering thoughts
Reflecting old memories
Etched in the
Energy of what is...
Never ending

Blissful
Love
Unending
Eternal

Incense weaving through the
Night air carrying the magic
Dancing through the senses
