Starlight

A soft evening song today, exploring the concept.

Starlight  -  22 Dec 16

Evening falls so gently
A whisper in the gathering dark
Lamterns lit
Can be seen on other worlds
Fires in the sky
Jewels at night
I watch to see
Who is I can see
Watching me
In the light from the stars

Have you ever wondered who might be looking at the stars on other worlds?

Dayscape

A small offering today with an element of fantasy.

Dayscape  -  25 Feb 16

In the hollows of the day
Tiny worlds blossom
Capturing momentary sunlight
In the lantern of a dewdrop
The forests of our memories
Wave the day into movement

An ancient theory stated that winds were caused by trees waving their branches around.

Lantern

Not entirely certain where the inspiration for this came but it feels comfortable.

Lantern  -  30 Jun 13

Sun kisses the horizon
As he prepares to rest
Earth welcomes him back
To her bosom
To sleep for another night

I light the lantern
To let the Moon know …
I am awake …
I am here

Short but good ~ at least I think so ... [little smile as I type this].

Moon Fyre

Only the title appeared in my thoughts ~ Muse was playing her usual games ~ but this gave rise to this poem.  Which does, indeed, seem like the second poem in a series.

Moon Fyre  -  21 May 13

Eclipse
Energy of the sun
Courses through
The lantern night
Of a distant dream

Watching
She smiles
And gently touches
My lips
Raising the powers

Light
In dark in light
The Fyre of the Moon
Burns the phantoms
Of a sad day

Moon keeps watch
Over me
Gives silver kisses
Cherishing
Warm silver

My thanks go to my Lovely friend dani who did me the very great honour of reblogging my last Moon poem at ~

~ in which she hoped that "One Moon" would be the first of a series.
