Evening Shadow

.
Interesting flavours can be found everywhere.

.
Evening Shadow        -        15 Nov 22

I look up
To taste the shadow
Of the evening
Flavoured with all the
Sweet nuances of the day
Intoxicating in the depth
Of intensity

.
Drunk on the essence.

Taste

The second of the "Senses" sequence.

Taste  -  93 Jul 16

Sweet kisses
Intoxicating
Leaving a trail of you
Across my lips
On my tongue
Within my mind
The taste of YOU
In my Heart
Never to be forgotten

This is also a Love song.

Warm Evening

I can think of nothing to say to introduce this poem, please read and comment perhaps.

Warm Evening  -  30 Jun 15

Warm evening
Sun has sat
Stars beginning to show
Fragrant night air
Intoxicating

Our hands linked
Fingers interlaced
In our special smile
Mentally we kiss
As we walk

Out at sea
Ships and lighthouses
Dancing with the stars
Whirling through the night
For us

A mental *happy sigh* from me.

Tantalus [Acrostic]

This acrostic poem was designed in two parts ~ each illustrating the concept of the Tantalus but forming a complete whole.

Tantalus [Acrostic]  -  04 Dec 13

Touching you breathing deep
Aroma sweet intoxicating
Nothing brings me closer
To you
Arms outstretched reaching
Longing but I cannot hold you
Untold miles
Separate us

Interesting, I feel, how one word can be split into two parts ~ contradicting yet whole.

Brides Tales

I was trying to get to sleep when words kept wandering through my mind, Muse insisted that I made a note of them or they would be forgotten.
I feel that I should make the inspiration points here; "Dawn bride's veil" comes from the first line of "Islands", one of the records by King Crimson.  The hint from John Keats - "Ode to Autumn" is in the first line of his poem and a subtle reminder of "Fires At Midnight" the song from Jethro Tull completes the list of what I can see here.
On with my poem ...

Brides Tales  -  02 Nov 13

Dawn bride
Her veil captures the wind
Bends it to her will
Her perfume fills the sky
Holds me

Bride in the afternoon
The mellow fruits
Of autumn
Share her sweet smile
Intoxicating

Evening bride
Fires glow in the hearth
Giving cheerful light
Not as warm
As her Love

Bride of night
Rich crimson blossoms
Of the midnight feast
Roses before dawn
We share

It is really good when Muse nags me to get things written so they remain to be posted here.

Caressing Me

The first few words floated around in my mind for a few hours before birth was complete.

Caressing Me - 21 Dec 09

She invited,
I laid my head down
On her lap
She placed
Her cool hands
Gently on my brow

She spoke
Sweet words
Which lapped like
Soft waves on my shore

Subtle perfume
Washed through all
My senses
Awaking memories
Stilling thoughts of all...
But her

She sang
Her song for me
She whispered
Words of love
Like sweet wine
Exquisitely intoxicating

Drunk with her
I looked up
Into her eyes
And was forever
Lost
Drowned in
Her infinity

Someone knows...
