Night Game

When day starts to feel like a pale night...

Night goes on and on

The game plays 

Without enthusiasm 

Under the stars 

In the never ending 

Night full of the dreamless 

Endless dark 

. 

How it feels.

Tired

This poem was born on one of those afternoons when mind and body really did not want to do anything but sleep.

Eyes want to close
Brain shuts down
Time passes
Dreamless
Only indication
Hands on the clock
Somewhere different
Again





These usually happen on hot summer days ~ not in September.
