And, just sometimes, sleep does not win.

This poem was born on one of those afternoons when mind and body really did not want to do anything but sleep.

Eyes want to close
Brain shuts down
Time passes
Dreamless
Only indication
Hands on the clock
Somewhere different
Again





These usually happen on hot summer days ~ not in September.
