Diurnal

This is the second of the two poems the first of which, "Nocturnal"  was published yesterday.

Diurnal  -  12 Sep 16

Sitting in the warm spray
Of the September sun
Watching birds gather
Light is cooler now
And in the distance
Thunder rumbles softly
Telling of a storm to come
In the short day

It is fun and quite satisfying to create linked poems.

September

This was actually written on the first of the month but what I felt in the air seemed to be setting the weather mood for the month.

September  -  01 Sep 14

September winds
Chill and wrapping around
The sun
Taking his warmth

Leaves beginning to fall
Never changing colour
To something special
Just crispy brown fragments

Tomorrow’s sun
Will not see the leaves
Wind will tidy them away
Ready for the next cascade

Hoping that I am wrong about this weather forecast.
