Raven

This poem has two dates, the first saw the birth of the first stanza as I was attempting to go to sleep.  The second date, a month later, saw the completing two stanzas come into existence and I feel that the resultant form is rather satisfying.

Raven  -  23 Sep & 23 Oct 14

Raven
Black wings
Rook night
Fractured dream of nightmare
Hastened into the starless realm

Raven
Watches day
Dove flight
Broken nightmares shattered
Carried away into the sun

Raven
Wing whisper
Touch the Soul
Wraps warm dreams around
Takes us into the day

More than a hint of "limite surréaliste" in there too.

Rook Call

The Chess Game seems to be growing ~ I shall just let it grow and see where it takes me.

Rook Call  -  17 Apr 14

Around the battlements
Rooks circle
Raucous cry
Summoning the dark King
To shelter
In the castle

Bishops weave their plans
Plot strange downfalls
For unaware people
As the cavalry
Trots past
To their secret destination

Wish I knew where it was going.
