My Delight

Inspired by a mis-quote by Robert Heinlein this poem was birthed.





My Delight  -  03 Dec 17

Moon kiss

Gentle touch of lips

Across mine ~ welcoming

You are my delight

My inspiration

My desire

The correct inspiring line is from "The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam" and it reads "Ah Moon of my desire"

Unexpected Inspiration

I felt this as I was trying to develop a poem and though the paper was in my mind I did get the inspiration in a very similar way.





Unexpected Inspiration  -  03 Feb 15

Pen in hand
I stare at the page
Hoping for inspiration
Wishing for a poem
To form
But all I see are
Random lines
Unravelling shapes

Then gradually
From the blurred mix
I see words
Standing out …
I …
Love …
You …
A name also forms

I realise
My special Muse
She who has inspired
Many things from me
She is always
With me
Showing me things
To inspire me … again





So a thank you to my special Muse for flowing into my thoughts and bringing this poem into being.

 

Harmony

While writing the outro for "Competition" I said "Getting the feeling that this is the first poem of a pair."  Within a few moments of posting it here on Muse, the first words of the second poem started to form, so here is the second poem...constructed as a "count up" form.

Angel voice

Giving my Soul
New words to sing

Relief from the competition
Old contestants
Scurry for the shade

Harmony ~ songs of Love
Now fill my thoughts
She touches me
With warmth

For inspiration
A flame is lit
And
Angel
Gives me a smile and a song
