Intermittent

.
Moments pass just out of reach between the flickering light.

Intermittent       -       16 Jan 23

Clock determines circular time
A fiction for time has no shape
Reading time from the intermittent
Splashes of light from a tumbling
Mirror in a sideshow nightmare

Where does this go.

Time

.
In the dark hours.

.
Time      -      01 Apr 21

Twentythree
Watching the clock
The midnight hour approaches
Time waits
Never
Seconds pass
Tick after tock
Inexorable
March of the cogs

.
Time is a fiction, as a wise man said.

Time Dances

.
Metronome or a walking pace.

.
Time Dances     -     06 Mar 21

Tap, tap, tap,
A clock
Or shoes on a stone floor
Both
When time dances
To mark where you have been
And where you might go
In your dance
Across time

.
Use each step with clear thought.

Chronons

A speculative poem bordering on the limite surrĂ©aliste.

Chronons  -  30 Sep 15

Listening to the clock
Audibly marking artificial
Divisions of passage
Wind marks the movement
Of a branch
As it sways
The whisper left hanging
In the air
By the passage
Sigh marks the sadness
Felt caused by the absence
Of someone missed
Chronons touched
In the journey
Through time

Just as a photon in the smallest useful “piece” of light a chronon has a similar part of the measurement of time.

Juct a thought.

Map Of Time

Another poem in the "Map" sequence.  It doesn't seem to have any specific inspiration other than taking the cue from previous poems in the series and a vague hint of Salvador Dali with the rolled clock.

Map Of Time  -  26 Apr 13

Unrolled
Ticking clock
A bell strikes an hour but
I lose count

Forgetting
Where we are
A face shines out an our but
Whose our?

Dawn
Conducts the choir
Chorus sings a medley
In random keys

Waking
Remembered that
Of all the times we see and share
Are any real?

Sun
Fingers of light walking
Across the shape of the day ~ into
Time’s map

Another touch of surrealism ~ one day I shall have to work on creating something totally surreal with the assistance of Muse.
