Rose

Another poem to continue the floral theme.

Rose  -  27 Jul 15

Velvet petals
Swept by the wind
Perfume carries further
Not just in space
But time and mind
The rose of Love
Is everywhere and
Everywhen
Breathe deep

A rose for you.

Tiny Love Letter

One of the smallest of all Love letters but more important than all the long missives.

Tiny Love Letter  -  09 Nov 14

You offered a petal
Love letter
On a single
Fragment
Of a flower

I smelled the essence
Of the rose
Perfume of the ink
Still carried
On the petal

I read three words
I knew
All you needed to say
Was held there
For me

I breathe in the perfume.

Love Flower

A subtle Love song ~ nothing more to say.

Love Flower  -  25 Oct 13

Petals of a Love
Once bloomed
In a secret place
Perfume lingers
Love flower
Always blooms
Often unexpected
Always welcomed

There will be more somewhen soon.

Rose Petal

Just a little Love song.

Rose Petal  -  17 Sep 13

Rose petal
On my pillow
Left by her
Token of Love
Unending
Dewdrop glistens
Tear on the petal
Love spoken
In another language

Sometimes these arrive somewhat unannounced.

Fading Dreams

I was watching some tracks on YouTube when a few words heard, or probably misheard, triggered some words of my own to start to come together in my mind. This is an antithesis of the usual love poems that have been appearing here, I just feel that my brain wanted to scribe something different.

Fading Dreams - 21 Nov 11

Fading dreams
A handful of petals
Crumbling now…
In my pocket the thorns
Remind me
Blood on my fingertips
I taste the salt

Dawn was not a release
Cloud smudged the sun
Night held on
To the thoughts
That birthed the
Dreams
Spewed them into the morning

Dreams are all I really had
Once shining bright
Now tattered, tarnished
Cast to rust
Across the ground
I rise into the cold
Followed by the fading dreams

I hasten to say here that this poem is in no way autobiographical and nothing should be read into these words except the random triggering that my Muse offers.

This is my offering for...

Knocking at the Door

This poem grew fairly quickly this afternoon and is another of the ones that have no known trigger, obviously something inside me did set something in motion but I have no idea what this was.

Knocking at the Door - 17 Oct 09

Knocking quietly
At the door of my memory
You are
Trying to bring the thoughts
Back into view

I remember playing with you
All those years ago
When we were young,
Was it so very long since
We were together?

A rose we shared
Crimson petals like velvet
Cool, yet warm in our hands
Echo of the fire in our hearts
The love still glows

A temptress in the loveliest sense
I cannot refuse your request
And I invite you in again
And offer you the cup
To share love's wine

I hope you enjoyed this offering.
