Dream Within


An example of layered dream structures.



Dream Within  -  22 Sep 15

 I heard
A long slow rumble
Dragon purr
In the warmth
Of the lair
I awoke
A smooth hand
Stroked my cheek
Wandered down
I awoke
Rain beat
Against my window
Listening to a record
Suddenly silence
As the power failed
I awoke
And the sand
Under my hands
Began to irritate me
Gritty
I awoke



When experienced it can be quite confusing.

    THAT WOULD BE DISORIENTING AT THE LEAST BUT IT MAKES FOR A GREAT POEM!

      I have had a few of these "dreams within dreams" and they are usually confusing because you can never be certain which is the real ending.
